We could simply store the "blockHasSeithrOil = true/false" in a hashmap. When a player steps on a block, we retrieve the information from the hashmap and either leave or damage the player. Serverside, we wouldn't be able to add any new block models. The oil is clear anyway, so we wouldn't need a texture for it. we should also be able to let players drink the oil. maybe we can create a custon crating thning wher you pour it into a cauldron, mix it with other stuff and then take out you newly disused death poison! also milk CANNOT be a cure for all potions. IDEA: in a brewing stand, you put some poison and a bottle or can of milk. This then creates an antidote for that poison. And what would be the purpose of drinking the oil? Suicide? xD

How will you tell that there is Seithr oil on a surface? It seems kinda cruel that you are going to give no notification to a player that they are about to step in a puddle of flesh-eating acid. Yes, this is abou the fair play thing again. maybe you could smell it? i mean by that that it would emit some faint particles. so the server searches for blocks that are coated with the oil and then spawns in some particles? Also the plant would only ba able to grow on the island specified in the books, i cant remember which one though... Particles sound good! We could use smoke particles - You don't need anything special to spawn them and they suit the burning qualities of the oil. Searching through all blocks on the server though, that would be a laggy nightmare. Remember that we're already storing the blocks in a HashMap, we can just access the information there and set the particles on those blocks! :-)

They are distinct, but somewhat easy to miss. And yes it is a lot easier to search a hash map for the Seithr oil value rather than searching the whole block map for a block with Seithr oil on it! server efficiency right there.

It was sharktooth island or something, but yes I think particles might work as a way of showing it. We can even use the green poison particle! It doesnt actually state which island, just thats its not on the map so we can make it that it can only be obtained br trading.

Seithr oil isn't to be handled lightly.

Milk is just the base upon which we create the cures for everything! I agree that milk shouldn't be a complete everything cure, cuz antidotes are supposed to be somewhat rare, and it would be unreasonable to carry around every single antidote there is, which helps make poison more effective!

Me: *throws* It can't be that ba- *server crashes due to extreme lag* *five minutes later* *super laggy, barely able to move* Admin: WHAT IDIOT THREW THE OIL?!?

Or, since the uncursed version of the oil is used in jewelry, maybe we make a crafting recipe like: [emerald] [emerald] [emerald] [emerald] [uncursed Seithr oil] [emerald] [emerald] [emerald] [emerald] And with diamonds too, this would make it very expensive and very difficult to craft.

Flawless gems aren't cheap. But even one would be very advantageous because it could add lots more energy for you to do spells with!
