Yea, I guess it would be unfair to have the elves be semi-superior, but I believe that once you become a rider, you get more buffs. Becoming a rider should be EXTREMELY hard, to make sure trolls don't get it and abuse its power on new people. Trolls usually don't dedicate the time to get something like that just to lose it to a ban soon after

I like that idea, like Urgals having permanent resistance, elves having speed, dwarves having haste(not sure what this would be used for since it is and RPG server ) and humans having... something else. But I definitely believe that the races should be distinct, and have each of their start off tutorials be different, but end up being able to do the some quests and everything. That's exactly what I was thinking, but because I couldn't think of any buffs that would make sense for humans, and it needs to still be balanced. I figured that elves, dwarves, and urgals should also have some derps or debuffs. For example, the elves might only be able to eat fruits and vegatables (potatoes, apples, carrots, etc.), the urgals could get attacked on sight by all AI (not sure how this would work, might be able to give animals damage values?), and the dwarves might not be able to attack from as far away as the other races (Just one or two blocks less would make sense). I don't know if any of this is possible but it would certainly add some depth to the game! Well, using plugins im pretty sure that you could do all you just said, and it would make sense as well. i think that for humans they should be average, no buffs/de-buffs, but everything that everyone eslse has said on this topic would work really well for the server, i think.

Righteo! Perhaps each time you die you have to select a different race from the one you just died as. This will "force" players to try everything instead of sticking with the race that they think is best. I like the idea of being able to change your race after dying (so you can experience them all if you want) but it shouldn't be required to change it every time. It would be too confusing if you ended up being a dwarf in Du Weldenvarden or an urgal in Teirm. To to balance the races, maybe you could implement some sort of travel restriction on elves and dwarves. For instance, if I were a dwarf I'd be confined to the Beor mountains unless I paid a fine every time I wanted to leave them. And I also like the idea of urgals being attacked by villagers on sight.

Many staff are still against the idea of races. We want everything to be available to everyone, and restricting where you can visit on the map will turn even more of them against the idea. What's your suggestion for the fine that must be payed?

What's your suggestion for the fine that must be payed? The purpose of the fine would be to balance out the advantages of being an elf or dwarf as compared to being a human. It could be in the form of actual items (like a piece of gold each time) or could be where certain abilities and or attributes are affected negatively for the duration of being outside the race's specified territory. Another thought: would it be better to simply limit their ability to walk freely through human establishments and trade with villagers which could result in being 'caught' of sorts and kicked out of the town/city? I'm basing this off the idea that in the books, races often didn't intermingle very much outside of war, and Alagaesia still hasn't become completely free and open everywhere. The thing is, everything WOULD be available to everyone, because maybe each time you are killed, you can either start a new story line as another race, or respawn as the same person in the same race. This way, you could experience every race without being confined to just one. Regardless, the races need to be balanced so that each one has its pros and cons. I feel like elves should have the most 'extremes' of sorts, like very good physical and spellcasting abilities, but the inability to eat meat, restrictions when interacting with other (not very open) races, and maybe even the way they communicate with others being more difficult. This would mean that as a player I'd have to determine which race's traits I feel are best, and with no clear answer, I'd be motivated to experience them all.

Red, i think that we need to, as the staff say, keep the playing field even. we cant have it so that dwarves cant go into certain towns and such. sure, the races should have distinguishing qualities, but not so that its unfair to be a dwarf.
anyway, its the time of the riders so you can pretty much do anything you want, like a dwarf could be a dragon rider, and elves could live in narda (if they wanted to)
