A few of you have asked how enchanting will work on the MCAlagaesia RPG server.
As the experience system is used by Minecraftthing's Thirst plugin, you won't be able to enchant in the usual way.
This is where Minecraftthing's other plugin comes in: the MCAlagaesia Magic plugin. Using commands you will be able to apply low-level enchantments to objects at a cost of energy.
For example, /hvass (hvass means "sharp" in the ancient language) applies, you guessed it, sharpness 1 to any sword. Discuss more enchantment ideas below! We'll consider adding it for you.
I hope this clears up the issue! :-)

I have a question what is the compatability of multiple word spells so if I wanted somthing more complex than the basic one word spell how would I go about doing that, and/or is it even possible at this point in time

I have a question what is the compatability of multiple word spells so if I wanted somthing more complex than the basic one word spell how would I go about doing that, and/or is it even possible at this point in time Each spell has to be added manually at the current time. There's no way to take the effects from (for example) /brisingr and the effects from /adurna to create an entirely new spell. If we want to create a new spell, we have to manually create the spell and its effects, such as filling a bottle with potion of fire resistance for "/brisingr adurna". Despite these limitations, we're always looking to expand the plugin, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to... well, suggest! :-)

I like this! I think it's a great idea for enchanting. If I think of any spells, I'll tell you ASAP

Is energy hunger? because that would, i think, be a great way to limit magic in the way alagaesia system of magic. when you use a spell, depending on how hard it is, your hunger bar goes dawn and if it is completely depleted it takes away health. Does any one think this is a good idea?

Now I see what Enchanting Tables are going to be used for instead of enchanting - Magic Research! Wow, this project is really going places...

Just an idea, maybe you could use magic on armor and stuff to give yourself "wards" that would protect you from damage for a specific number of hits or something before you need to put up the wards again (pretty much like enchanting armor, but with the wards the armor wouldn't be damaged either because the hits are being stopped)

The armour will still deplete, however, to simulate the wards drawing on your energy and eventually failing over time. If wards are present on your armour, there'll be a small chance that you'll loose some hunger with every hit that relates to that ward. For example, you'll lose hunger from falling if feather falling is present on your armour, but you won't loose hunger from projectile damage. Unless, of course, you have projectile protection too.

If the ward takes a hit for you, however, shouldn't the armor itself not take any damage and instead your hunger bar would be slightly depleted? Another idea, it would be pretty cool if you could take an emerald (or multiple emeralds to increase their total capacity) and enchant them to be a flawless gemstone that would then have its own hunger bar of sorts. You would be able to store hunger in it and take some back as needed. Also, if someone were to steal it from you, the energy stored in it would still be kept in the gemstone.

And you caould also get some of these "Flawless Gems" as rewards for quests and stuff, also maybe be able to find them in mines or something.
