So if you don't know what im talking about take a look at This Page and This page now really this mainly affects server owners; but it also affects the users because this means that now new bukkit updates will be released; probably ever including 1.8 and up. I just wanted o give this some more attention because Wesley Wolfe is being a total douche about this and how Mojang isn't willing to give him their closed source software. As a server owner I thought this was just straight up childish, but you really can't stop him as he's the author :/

Mojang have mentioned multiple times that they will still update to 1.8, so hopefully that's true...

No matter what happens, we'll pull through. It doesn't seem like a major issue - yet. We'll just bunker down until it all blows over.

Looks like Bukkit has fallen hard. We're looking at Spigot as an alternative, or www.spongepowered.org/. Sponge have recruited many developers from other projects to create a new API for Minecraft servers. Some people they have involved include... sk89q (of WorldEdit/WorldGuard) - project lead blood (of MCPC+/Cauldron) - project lead LexManos (of Forge/FML/MCP) cpw (of Forge/FML/MCP) Portions of the Spout team (Zidane/Raphfrk/DDoS/Sleaker/Owexz/Wulfspider) Portions of the Flow team (kitskub) Portions from ForgeEssentials (AbrarSyed) Other Bukkit Plugin developers (KHobbits/Elgarl/zml) Portions of the FTB team The Canary team Glowstone (SpaceManiac) Spigot team Some previous contributors to Bukkit

Still, Mojang have promised to update Bukkit to 1.8, and perhaps into the future... Who knows?

OK whatever the case, you plugins are all built for 1.7.5 so you will never need to update.

Plugins are usually relatively simple to update, unless either Mojang or Bukkit completely re-write huge chunks of important code, such as how packets are handled, etc. However, you're completely correct - we can stay in 1.7 forever if we wanted

Hey, speaking of custom block models, you know what would be a really cool block for the RPG server is a bowl of water/mirror (depending on whether on surface or wall) to use for scrying. I'll suggest it in the RPG section of the forum.

Sorry for responding on kind of a dead post but I can't find info on what you are using now... I'm assuming Sponge since Spigot has also been taken down... In the meanwhile, everyone go petition this Wesley Wolfe here.
