Hey guys, i was thinking that we should adopt a "skills" system into the roleplay server. with this the more that you participate in a certain task you get "better" at at it and it you start getting better stuff. for example, if you are a farmer and you spend a lot of you time (guess what) farming, you will gain more skill points and then if you harvest one piece of wheat you might get 2-3 seed instead of one, and as you get more skill levels, maybe up to ten? you keep getting more perks. but over time you lose skill points to replicats forgetting all the tips and tricks that make you a master.
tell me what you think of this idea.

Neat! skills is something we'll definitely look into, and it should really add another level of skill to gameplay.

Certain races could start on certain skills at level 2 or 3 rather than 1 to give them an advantage.

I like your're idea! we should also make a proffession thing, where when you begin you can choose to gain a skill level in one area to represent a trade or skill.

Well, you can learn those skills over time. It's not as if you are born with your skill set for a trade, you learn it. But yes, if you wanted to be, say, a hunter, maybe over time you would hunt for wild animals, and that would give you better enchantments on a bow you are holding, to represent getting better at it as you learn it.

I think he meant that seriously... but yes it would definitely make the game more interesting because you could become better at certain things. Specialization through skill set.

Well, its not like anyone is going to start off as a baby in MCA, nearly everyone will be either a young adult or an adult. And those adults will probably have grown up doing something, and thats what the profession is. i assume that you will pput an application through here on the forum once the server is up saying who your character is, what their profession is and such.

Well, (ha now I'm just starting all posts on this thread with "well,") even adults learn trades. Your job should be flexible rather than set in stone (dwarf pun not intended) and your skill in that profession should improve as you practice it. So maybe you could have the option of starting out with a trade but at a very low level, but that is just for when you start and not determinant of what you have forever.

Of course just because you start as a miner it doesn't mean that you cant be a farmer later on! im just saying thatplayers should have something to work off inthe beggining, if they find that they want to be a fisherman later on, so be it.
