Hi guys, i was thinking for a cool feature on the server would be to add ground trampling. this effectively means that if grass is walked on enough in a time period it turns into dirt again and then coarse dirt, like crop ground but it doesn't trample as easy. over time the ground would return to normal.
this would mean that well used trails and paths would be a lot more obvious , and if say a massive army waked around for ages you could see where it went. anyway, this is just an idea.

I like the idea! Although we'd have to store the blocks in a huge hashmap, such as HashMap<Block (the block stepped on), Integer (amount of times the block's been stepped on)> and then write to a file when the server is restarted, otherwise we'd have read/write cycles every time a player steps onto a new block. To reduce this load, we should make it that only certain blocks are counted - see table below State 1 | State 2 | State 3 | State 4 | Grass | Dirt | Coarse Dirt |
| Stone Brick | Cracked Stone Brick | Cobblestone | Gravel | Stone | Cobblestone | Gravel | |

This could even be applicable to animals and such... That said it could very well cause a whole lot of lag. Maybe the devs can think of an effective way to do this.

Oh look at that a dev already thought of a good way to do it. Silly me.

Update!
Hellomynameis99 has successfully created this feature! The server doesn't seem to mind about storing all the extra data.
