the time has come where a points apocalypse will be upon us shortly!
As we speak a number of lesser builders spamming out plots worth 1-3 points shall soon have enough to be on the build team world! The issue is not their dedication but their skill (and the lack thereof), it will most likely degrade the server (unless they are hiding something really cool) if they are allowed onto the build team world. Therefore, i propose the removal of points altogether, and just having ranks, harder to earn, and avoiding poor quality plot spamming, it may be the only way to save quality of our glorious recreation.

That's one of the reasons why we didn't give you, along with the rest of the staff hired through the build server, the ability to give points. Points are only given if a builder would be helpful on MCAlagaesia. We don't give points just for building. If you build modern, and do it well, good job! You won't, however, get any points, because modern builds won't help MCAlagaesia. If you build a plot with no good content, you won't get any points for that either.

no, my point is that the points that are being given already to bland spammed plots most often basically if we replace points with ranks needing a checklist for each specific rank we can set the criteria needed so that players will be able to easier learn from their failings and improve.

So how would that change anything? It's still a method allowing players to join the private build server.

plots could still be spammed but due to the checklist only B grade or higher quality plots would be accepted show's great understanding/working of detail, * atmosphere, style and purpose in a well balanced mix | ⬛
| * shows elements of a well balanced detailed plot | X
| * plot displays some degree of skill | ⬛ | * plot lacks important elements, both for style and realism
| ⬛ | * plot is devoid of any elements relating to a quality plot | ⬛ |
Something like this for example (X is the accepting baseline)

Points is easy to understand and use, the ranks would take so much more time to set up.

the point i am trying to get across is being lost, this is most likely my fault for a poor conveying of what i mean,
I will try one more time...
The crappy plot builders do not get better because they can spam out the same junk, just differently. It is this same junk which through minor variations in the terrain/interior/etc allows it to be just good enough to gain points, while we can dispute that the fact that it has earned points makes it worthy, it does not necessarily mean that the builder who made it is worthy of the points, and while we can say that the repeated plot changed with minor variations is the education of that builder, it is not, they just got lucky on the one build. If we really want it to work we need a replacement of points something that will clearly tell the builder in which areas they excelled in and how they can improve, rather than the current guesswork they do where the most relate-able comparison to their skills getting better, would be Ray Charles (a blind guy) trying to drive a car.
