Hey guys!
We love it when you suggest new features for MCAlagaesia, but we're starting to find that some features are suggested often are impossible to do with serverside plugins. Plugins can only modify what the server can do. We have no control over these limits. Here's a few things to keep in mind when sharing your ideas...
What we cannot do Create new blocks Create new items Show a picture or video to a player (except maps or displayed in blocks) Create a new entity/mob or change the size/shape of an existing one Check if a player has a texture pack, mod, or hack installed. Play an external sound Create multiple textures for a single item, with the server able to choose which to use Listen for a keypress Add to the Minecraft HUD (Heads Up Display)
What we can do Add functions to an existing block Add functions to an existing item Add functions to an existing entity/mob Provide a single custom resource pack to the client Play a sound that already exists in Minecraft Change the function of some existing parts of the HUD

Really helpful info! I'll keep that in mind when suggesting new features. Thanks!

Here's a thought that could make up for some of the limitations: what if you used server-side plugins to add everything you can, but then have an optional "MCAlagaesia Enhancement Mod" that would add many cool but unnecessary features to a player's MCA experience, such as differently colored dragons. They wouldn't give the player any major advantages, but it would still be cool!

The mod should be able to contact the server, so we can add new keys, a single texture for each dragon, and much more... Such as a new thirst bar...

Awesome! we need to have a supplement mod for MCA, we just need it on a variety of different platforms (forge, technic...) Also, it is possible to have multiple server texturepacks, ive seen a plugin for it. Ill create a thread for the MCA supplement mod now.

I would be fine with downloading a mod for this server, so if it's possible I am gonna be the first one to install it!

I remember seeing some detail and realizing it wouldn't work, but maybe I'm mistaken. I think that the problem was that it still wouldn't allow for two different dragons to have different textures, it would change it for both.

It just means thatyou can have multiple server resurcepacks, like u could choose from MCA vanillapack, MCA Sphaxpack or MCA 32bitvanillapack.

I thought you were suggesting a solution to the multi-textured entity problem. Yes, a variety of resource packs would be very cool, so you can let the player decide their preference. Maybe we can use a command like /resourcepack 1 and stuff.

Yeah, the plugin may not work like that but we can modify it to suit our needs pretty easily!

Yeah, the plugin may not work like that but we can modify it to suit our needs pretty easily! so you mean that we could edit the plugin to use commands? Yeah, I doubt it's too complicated at the base of the plugin. You would just create a new command like the devs have done a million times and have that trigger whatever script changes the resource pack for the player, rather than the player choosing at the beginning.

Great! this would be a great feature for the supplement pack as well since we can add GUI!

But it could have its own menu too in the enhancement mod.
